Pastel Portrait of Prancer
My friend and very talented artist Jane Alcorn just finished this beautiful pastel of Prancer. She is so amazing and somehow captures the essence of the animals she paints. Please check out her website to see more of her amazing work! http://www.absolutearts.com/portfolios/j/jalcorn/Thursday, July 26, 2007
Summer Peppurrs
Life is rich when cats are involved! The top pic is Prancer and his new buddy "Bill". I don't really know his name, we think he is a neighbor's cat from the street behind us. We called him Bell before we quickly relized she was a he. So Bill and Prancer hang out in the yard.. but not too close! The middle and bottom picture is Meowlia (Dahlia), she is still really little but very agile. Her new favorite thing is to climb the top of the weight equipment and relax.

Homework Cats

This is me (not pictured) trying to do my poetry homework. These are my helpful cats. See how helpful they are? They also help me fix breakfast, lunch and dinner - they always have such wonderful advice. When I am painting they will often help with my brush strokes by hitting the end of my brush. I love their contribution of fine pieces of hair in my ceramic work, I always tell them that it looks great now, too bad it will burn off in the kiln. The biggest help is when I go to the bathroom! They all rush in the door and mill around until I am done. Thanks for your help kids!

Pink Dahlia

Ahhhhh sigh, it was so nice to come home tonight and just paint a painting. I have been itchin' to use pink and Dahlia was a perfect subject. Some of Dahlia's brown hair has a pink hue to it. Ted said that if she really had a bird and a mouse and a salamander on her back she would probably eat them. I don't know, she doesn't even eat "trout & sauce" with Prancer and Peter. She is still thrilled by "water food". Anyway, I am quite pleased with this painting. Purrrrr.

Bernard (the Squirrel) and Prancer

Bernard is Prancer's least favorite person (squirrel). Bernard loves to do his little dance inches away from Prancer. He stands up on his hind legs and sways his entire body side to side, and wiggles his tail while chirping. He knows how far Prancer can go on his leash. I'll bet Prancer would love to eat this Turkey for his thanksgiving. I always wondered why they don't make squirrel or mouse flavored cat food.

Autumn Pepper Cats

Prancer, Peter and Dahlia enjoying the mild November weather and playing in the leaves. The birds were in full action singing their little hearts out today. Peter was a little goat outside today, I am not sure if we will need to have the lawn mowed this week.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING from the Pepper Cats!
